Data Capture

Map Data:

A standard data capture application (dc tool) is available and should be used for the capture of all project meta data, user-defined data and polygon attribute information as outlined in the TEM and PEM technical standards. This application was initially designed as a TEM tool but has since been adopted by and used for PEM data capture. This dc tool and accompanying user guide can be downloaded by clicking on the following links:

Once the dc tool has been downloaded, you will need to complete the following three steps before using the tool:

1. Create a folder on your hard drive called TEM_WHR_DCapr03.
2. Extract the file in the zip file into this newly created folder.
3. Open this folder and double click on the file Temdc02.2.xls

Field Inventory Data:

A series of Ecosystem Field forms are available for data collection. These forms must be used in conjunction with the Field Manual for Describing Terrestrial Ecosystems and adhere to the sampling requirements outlined in the TEM & PEM standards. Associated with these field forms is the standard VENUS data capture application. Please use the links provided below to access more information.

Data Submission:

The TEI Data Submission standards (draft) are now available. The Ministry of Environment also provides templates for the RISC standard attribute and spatial data in ArcGIS file geodatabase and .shp/.dbf formats, and a toolbox of data validation tools.
