Okanagan Valley: Vernon to Osoyoos SEI Report Home Page
This report is a compilation of 10 projects initiated from 2000 to 2007.
The report provides methods, results, ecosystems descriptions, planning and management issues, and conservation tools. Data and spatial files are available by individual SEI project (see links below).
The main objective of the project was to provide scientific information on sensitive ecosystems to support sustainable land management decisions and to encourage conservation and land stewardship throughout the Valley.
The Okanagan Valley study area is in south-central BC ranging from just north of Vernon south to the U.S. border. It covers 369,431 ha within 11 biogeoclimatic subzones and variants, and six Ecosections. (For more information see individual project links to the left.)
Ministry of Environment, Canadian Wildlife Service, Regional Governments of the Valley and conservation organisations initiated the project.
The report was published in Aug., 2008.
